At the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) Conference this past September, Director of Planning and Building, Amy Cann and Planner Patrick Casey from GSP Group accepted a 2024 PlanON Vision Award of Merit for Clearview’s new Official Plan.
“Clearview Township Council is grateful to the OPPI for recognizing our new Official Plan with the PlanON Vision Award.” Stated Mayor Doug Measures, “The significant effort that was made by our staff professional planners and contract planners to engage the public and find best practices is commendable.”
The PlanON Awards are the highest honour that OPPI can bestow and the 2024 Vision Award of Merit specifically, “celebrates Registered Professional Planners (RPPs) and their teams who have demonstrated excellence in advancing the public interest by addressing key challenges facing the planning profession in Ontario, such as climate change, innovations in planning, affordable housing, transit, technology, and/or inclusivity.”
Director of Planning and Building, Amy Cann, is proud of their collective work, “The Clearview Planning Team and the Planners at GSP Group put incredible care and thought into crafting the new Official Plan policies and engaging with the public and our commenting partners. We are very proud of the final product and wish to extend our thanks to those who participated in this important process.”
The Official Plan is currently under review by the County of Simcoe and is expected to go to County Council for approval in early November. To learn more about the Official Plan visit www.clearview.ca/opreview.
