Clearview Township is a proud partner of the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit’s On the Move initiative which aims to increase active school travel (i.e., walking and wheeling such as using a bicycle, skateboard, scooter, or inline skates to get to and from school or the school bus stop), to support children reaching at least 60 minutes of physical activity daily.
Active school travel brings many benefits to students and the community. Walking and wheeling to school helps students achieve the daily physical activity they need to be healthy, feel refreshed, and ready to learn. Fewer cars in the school neighbourhood also reduces traffic congestion, improves safety, and helps our environment.
