Clearview Township, the Community that we call home, turns 25 years old this year. 25 years is a milestone achievement. Old enough to have gained some true wisdom and a real sense of self, yet, young enough to maintain a youthful optimism about the future and an uninhibited sense of potential.
Past
On January 1st, 1994 Clearview Township was established by the County of Simcoe Act, 1993. Created after a municipal review, the Act amalgamated the Town of Stayner, Township of Nottawasaga, Township of Sunnidale and Village of Creemore to form the Clearview Township that we know today.
With agricultural roots and a foundation as a safe, friendly and peaceful place to live. Clearview has a history and legacy to be proud of. Taking its name from a farming community originally located between the 9th and 10th concessions of what used to be Sunnidale Township, because of its location in a flat area where you could see for miles in every direction1. In Clearview, we are truly lucky to live among such breath-taking natural beauty.
Present
Clearview is a distinctive rural Ontario community that provides affordable, connected and fulfilling life experiences. The kind of community where businesses are built on relationships and people really connect. They cheer on the local team or meet at the farmer’s market. It’s the genuine people who live, work and play in Clearview who get to experience their best and most authentic life.
We are a community of over 14,0002, yet we remain tight-knit, always willing to help our neighbours and work together for the benefit of future generations.
Future
As a Township, we have so much to look forward to. Just this year we will see the new Stayner Library Branch open, the re-opening of the Stayner Community Centre, phase one of the Stayner Downtown Open Space Improvement Plan, and the addition of a Creemore Public Transit route; all projects that will provide our Township with a greater sense of community and the amenities necessary for our growing population.
There is no limit to what we can accomplish together, here’s to another 25 years – Happy Anniversary Clearview!
