The County of Simcoe will commence collection for leaf and yard waste across the region during the weeks of April 6 and April 13, on your garbage collection week. Residents will receive four weeks of collection throughout April and May, occurring bi-weekly, always coinciding with garbage collection weeks.
Residents are asked to place leaf and yard waste out by the curb by 7 a.m. on Monday of your collection week. Collection may occur any day during the week, so please be patient and leave your leaf and yard waste curbside if it’s not collected on your exact garbage day. The final weeks of leaf and yard waste collection are May 18 and May 25, respectively. Please note: this program does not apply to the cities of Barrie and Orillia.
Leaf and yard waste collection includes leaves, grass, garden waste and branches that are sized and bundled appropriately. Residents are reminded to use kraft paper yard waste bags, cardboard boxes, or open-ended rigid containers to place out for collection. Brush must be bundled and secured properly.
